as to when the next layoff will be. I'm not sure I "trust" this Company. I'm fairly new, and I think I made a huge mistake leaving one company and coming here. I've been here less than a year, and I am disappointed with the leadership and where this once fine Company is heading too. Does anyone else feel unmotivated? I really don't even want to put that much effort in. Plus, their numbers are not right. I'm judged on incorrect sales numbers. I've made it thru 2 layoffs, and who knows if I'll make it through another. Sad situation here. The reps seem unmotivated and we are all going through the motions.

St pete office - gone
April 30th is the last day there will be any support from the AWM St Pete office. After that there will only be a handful of people that will move to Texas. Other than that the division is looking at years of knowledge that will be lost. AWB apparantely will pick up the slack and seemlessly transition across the AWM business with minimal disruption. The majority of employees at St Pete will be out of a job. The majority of people who have worked tirelessly to help this division progress and establish NPWT will be gone. No matter how the new order spins it its a huge knowledge gap to be filled and a lot of good employees will be affected. Why is this a good decision?

Heard from a source at corporate that they will be moving the commercial team from San Diego to St. Louis in 2015. Everyone will be given the opportunity to keep their positions, but they will be required to move. Mallinckrodt wants centralized marketing and training in home office.
I was also told despite initial communication of the national meeting being in San Diego, Hugh wants this changed as well to eliminate excess costs.

I don't sell Amitiza, never have but hear it's good. Dexilant is the only branded prescription (get a life haters). Doctors tell me over and over again they are amazed by it's results and THEY claim the drug is the best PPI ever, I sold Protonix for years and NEVER heard the kind of strokes Dexilant gets (truth); Nesina has never been detailed properly until last January; my market share has grown beautifully in this competitive market of diabetes; also Uloric is gaining lots of reception and acceptance, market share that's growing.
Contrave is breaking launch records with the sales numbers rolling in; and Brintellix is the best launched drug in primary care in the last 10 years.
There is good science behind these drugs; proud to sell them.

What I think is wrong is making the reps wait until Q4 pay period to get the money they were shorted in the Q3. IF you want a "fast finish" then pay us the rest of the money on Dec. 12th pay check. Some of us was counting on this money for Christmas. Do the right thing if you want us to continue to sell.
Either pay us on Dec 12th or we will have a slow finish in December

I read the other thread but wasn't sure it was a joke.
My company is having our NSM in Scottsdale, AZ and every company I have worked for has had winter NSMs in warm weather climates to avoid weather delays and to give the northern employees a break from the cold weather.
Also, Philly is the worst airport in the country for delays, even if the weather is cooperative.
It would be absolutely DEMONIC if your management was doing this to their sales force so I truly hope it is JOKE! And please don't say you have roommates too..... that would be SICK stuff!

I started with Shire shortly after the relo from Florence and had the opportunity to work inside for a few years before transitioning into a sales role. What is your take on quick call and 8 hours of admin time?
just curious what all of you think of the quick call option and now this new 8 hours per month of admin time allow it. Spoke with members of my district to feel that the quick call isa trap. my fear is that if you use it, you will be branded as a not effective rep because you didn't learn anything on your calls so what were you doing?also I'm sure that some district and regional managers will be pulling reports on how often this is used and somehow using it against us. With regards to the 8 hours of admin time, I believe this could spell danger for anyone who actually decides to take a full 8 hours at a time. That's my take, what is yours?

The report, released Thursday, found that 2.1 billion people, 30 percent of the world’s population, are obese, and warned that unless drastic steps are taken, that number could rise to 50 percent of the world’s population by 2030.
“Obesity is a systemic issue, born of many interlocking factors, and only a systemic response will do,” said Richard Dobbs, director of the McKinsey Global Institute, according to the Daily Mail.
In the report, the authors said any efforts to curb the obesity rate need to be a concerted, worldwide effort, and not piecemeal. “Above all, boldness is imperative,” they wrote. “Nothing else with mitigate the huge and rising human, social and economic costs of this crisis.”
Diabetes is not the problem. Overeating is the problem. Wake up.

Okay I am a IDN Director, high paying position with little to nothing to do. The HAM's that report to me have ZERO accountability. The HSAM's do not negotiate any contacts only because the division that I am in are not Hospital drugs. My Retail Reps do not sample only because the IDN really does not allow reps. When my reps do sample it is for a few one offs...HCP has a relative or going on a mission trip and needs some samples. I CANNOT believe that GSK is going to continue this Wonderful GIG! My team does a lot of running reports in order to justify all of our jobs within the IDN that we are all part of. It is simply a waste of a job.

Faxed Scripts Gone For Good? Plan? WTF
It's 5pm Tuesday, and still no word from the big executive meeting yesterday on how this Contrave mess is being resolved? They promised on last weeks CC that every single faxed RX did get captured, and credit would be given once processed. WELL, WE'RE WAITING!!!!
What a bunch of ass clowns! Still no emails or clarification from last week's CC, and absolutely no clear direction going forward. RSD's and DM's are all over the place on what's supposed to happen in terms of a definitive process going forward. Many unanswered questions remain as this becomes more of a distraction than it should.
It's almost like a critical play in a major football game is still under review by the officials. "After further review, we still don't know what the hell just happened, or what if anything we should do about it". "We may or may not get back with you"!

Got an angry and emotional call on Monday morning from a pharmacy director (which I am losing in the alignment so it is no longer my problem) and they told me that the name Mallinckrodt has such a bad reputation that they will make sure no future drugs ever go on formulary. Formulary agenda requests will be immediately rejected.
Perhaps an eminent sale of Mallinckrodt is near? They have to know it will be impossible to launch another hospital drug under the Mallinckrodt name. Perhaps they will get smart and give a division a different company name and they are simply just a division of Mallinckrodt.

(Reuters) - Activist investor William Ackman is supporting the $66 billion deal in which Actavis PLC (ACT.N) will buy Allergan Inc (AGN.N) and plans to withdraw from an Allergan special shareholder meeting he had planned, CNBC television reported on Tuesday.
Ackman, who had been fighting alongside Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc (VRX.TO) for control of Allergan, had called for the Allergan meeting to vote out board members and force the company to the table to consider their joint offer.
The meeting is scheduled for Dec. 18 but the move means that there is no longer a need for it, CNBC said.

I dream of a rose colored world without the glasses and pray I'm going to wake up soon in a world in which corporate, small businesses, associations, boards, and of all people inside them alike have values that are honorable, mutual, respectful and yes, of course profitable.
Do the right friggin thing for each other! Be the god damn change you want to see in the world, because as of right now.......I hope this reality I have experienced through my own eyes isn't the change any of you want to see in the world. If this really is "you" being your change you want to see in the world, then I guess this one's on all of you, on your conscience.

P.s. I can only speak for myself. I have no idea what they’re gonna do when they figure this out. You better believe that if they do come after those corporations/pharmacists who sell animal only prescribed medications by human pharmacists, or human pharmacists that sell them themselves it won’t be for money reasons. It will be for economic and non-economic harm done by pharmacists illegally selling animal only prescribed medications to their patients, but wouldn’t be for the human medications they privileged you with to collect dough on as I know these people, they are my people.
I’m sure they would be willing to work something out for you to collect on your human medications as they don’t wish to put their patients at risk for not having the best, and most cost effective medications available, medications for sentient beings that are property. These are reasons not of greed, but reasons of equality, compassion, and mutual respect as we are in a democratic society.

Let me repeat that, 50K each trimester!!!! WTF. This in addition to PR winning in the overall CIU contest with 267 scripts. Total BS!!!!! There are reps who made nothing with this new plan LD. How you can even bring up the billion $$ every email knowing this shows your lack of touch with the sales field.

Don't be Fooled by Patient First Changes
Please don't be fooled by the fact there will be no simulations in Semester 1 2015 because the company is taking time to figure it out. The real reason is due to layoffs-deep and heavy. Expect this to occur in Q2 2015. Once the re-org is finished the simulations and beatings will continue. Enjoy!!!!

Layoffs get confirmation of severance?
I have not received confirmation of my signed severance agreement and left several messages for HR folks. Any word out there? Also no direct deposit check today with additional vacation accrual that was promised. Is it coming via snail mail since we are no longer employees?

Other companies will now see and follow the revised and refined version of our great leaders plan and begin to wonder how god granted them such intelligence. Don't forget to show your enthusiasm and appreciation for countless years of listening to us. This little change in patient first has not only taken years to accomplish but it has further developed a process to be more subjective than before(which is something they openly said that they wanted to move further away from). Hopefully the new chairman can see exactly how to correct this patient first problem.

Good luck to all, former urology rep that got laid off. Hope Pyott and the rest of the crew rot in hell. Unfortunately, it is going to take a lot of layoffs to compensate for the approximately 60 Billion buyout. I never recovered all the way from the layoff. Please be smart and sharpen up your resume and start looking for a job now. It is a very tough job market. Start your search while everyone else is chilling out for the holiday you might get lucky and find a new job. Good luck to all because it is not going to be fun.

How you people live through this mess is beyond me. Today, after my sales calls at 1:30, I hit the links with a few customers, drank a few pints, and was home by 4pm.

Nut slapping incident ny DM
This situation happened about two weeks ago. I was working with the DM of the client company making a call on a very difficult doctor. The doctor is known to be tremendously hard to talk to. I did my very best and I thought I made some progress. The DM and I left his office and as we were in the parking lot walking to my car and she was walking next to me she suddenly back handed me in the groin area with fairly significant force. She started telling me the things I should have done differently on the call. I was in considerable pain from where she slapped me but I did my best to hide it. She never said she was sorry or that it was an accident.
My question is; I have been humiliated over this and my wife is very upset. Should I contact our Human resources department or the clients or should I contact an attorney? I found this to be the most unprofessional conduct in my 7 year career. Please submit any helpful advice.
