Well if you didn't come out of that conference call feeling a bit sick to your stomach you probably didn't listen very close.
First off, I appreciate Jeff E. being honest and not filling us full of BS like Don B. He could not guarantee future layoffs, but at this time doesn't plan any further. Well that is true, but will most likely change in the next few months, and he understands that. He admitted that Brisdelle will never be the product they hoped but still has growth potential and will be promoted that way. Ok, define growth? 1% a year? 5%? Realistically, it can't be much... He also said that Minivelle faces challenges through the rest of this year and over the next couple years from generic intrusion. For the remaining sales force we had better hope the "intrusion" is slow, otherwise we are in big trouble. But reality is that generics will soon make ground into Minivelle sales. Here's an ingenious idea to slow the Minivelle intrusion: GIVE US SAMPLES!!!! STOP SPENDING MONEY ON BRISDELLE AND PUT A LITTLE INTO MINIVELLE LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE 18 MONTHS AGO!!!!
If you listened there is pretty much nothing sales force related in Noven's pipeline for the next several years. Everything is for the generic market and they have even had to cut back on some of the R&D programs for cost savings. Like I have said on other threads, Noven will be around and making money, just without a sales force. I took the entire call as a warning of dark days ahead for sales unless we find a co promote with someone soon.
If you haven't gotten the hint yet, there may be no help for you. For the rest, it is time to start looking for anything else out there. I think we have 3-6 months max. Hope I'm wrong and things improve or Noven buys something for us to sell, but is there anything inside Noven right now to give you hope you'll be employed here in 6-9 months? I'll keep doing my job, because I'm being paid and it's the right thing to do, but in my free time I'll be looking.
