If Merck management wants to build a strong company and not purposefully run it in the dirt, make a change start building strong talent and keep the good people you have. Stop hiring outside and show your people they are valuable. Stop letting people, that are good, leave for other opportunities that pay them more. Stop hiring people at new less qualified people at higher levels, making more money than the existing people you have. Stop treating your existing people like worthless, easy to replace commodities and realize without good people Merck will sink!
