Wanted to see what some of you smart vets think:
1. Already have an advanced degree, and I am not going for my MBA for the sake of becoming a manager, especially in this industry.
2. Currently working for a company that has no career development or manager track.
When I was younger, I worked for some big companies, but had no desire to get into management. However, now that I just turned 50, I want to take a crack at it, because I do see it getting more and more difficult to get hired as a rep as I get older and the discrimination is so rampant in this industry.
My question: what suggestions do you have besides the obvious of 1. getting and MBA or 2. working for a company that will develop its people into managers.
