I have gotten a few frantic calls from PSRs saying they can't see their patients' compliance/downloads, etc. I have rock star PSRs that manage their patients very closely and we've had tremendous success increasing compliance, decreasing complaints, and lengthening length of use. It doesn't appear we have a plan at all...no company or product aqusitions and all co-promote opportunities have disappeared. We just launched two dogs into heavy generic markets, Myrbetriq and Astagraf-XL, and there is nothing of any value in our pipeline. There are no clinical trials being conducted on any of our drugs that add value and mounting concern over Xtandi. Where is this company going and why don't we have any leadership??? Seems like we are a $2.5 B titanic adrift at sea waiting to hit an iceberg.

Working more with less, geography growing 4 times in size, micro management, and above all failed drug launches. This guy sucked from the start. People thought he was heroic and saved the company. All show and no substance. Walking around the offices with his cold blooded smile only to lay off another 1000 people with the blink of an eye. Wonder if the board had a little smile on their faces after telling Viehbacher not to let the door hit him on the ass on the way out. This guy embraced the force rank system that reeks havoc on the sales teams ever year with the annual Thanksgiving layoff massacres that became his trademark. So V man hope you never get a chance again to screw with a company again. Your pathetic letter written has the tone of a 10 grader who just didn't get asked to the prom.

2015 health insurance deductibles double=pay cut

My guess is that the reason our deductibles are doubling is largely Obamacare. I have no doubt that monthly premiums will also increase significantly. Thanks so much, dems. For anybody enrolled in PBC insurance, this results essentially in a pay cut.



The word is that we will all be receiving salary increases in January, and now perhaps we know why -- to offset the doubling of deductibles and premium increases. Also, be aware that if you fail to enroll during the open enrollment period, you lose your insurance and will be forced into the pathetic Obamacare exchanges. There is no automatic carry over as in the past.

I would like to suggest Alec Baldwin to be cast in the Bill Ackman role. He would need a Grecian Formula treatment and the Slimfast diet before filming, but I believe Baldwin can conjure up a transformative Ackman, right down to the flaring of the nostrils and supercilious eyebrow action.



For Micheal Pearson, I will nominate Val Kilmer for the role.

Botox Maker Allergan Pleaded for Goldman’s Help in Valeant Fight

This summer, as Allergan, the maker of Botox, was coming under increased pressure to sell itself to Valeant Pharmaceuticals and the hedge fund Pershing Square Capital Management, its executives grew tired of playing defense. They wanted their advisers at Goldman Sachs to take the fight to Valeant.



“I need Goldman to take off its white hat and put on a darker one,” Jeff Edwards, Allergan’s chief financial officer at the time, wrote in an email to one of his advisers at Goldman Sachs.



That email was part of a trove of documents recently unsealed as part of a related insider trading case being heard in a California court. The emails, between Allergan executives and their advisers at Goldman Sachs and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, portray a company scrambling to fend off an unwanted takeover bid, even before the offer is publicly made.



Valeant, based in Canada, and Pershing Square did not go public with their offer for Allergan until April 22. But on March 4, Mr. Edwards and a colleague at Allergan were already discussing “takeover defense” and a strategy of “attacking the balance sheet” of Valeant if it were to make an offer.



That exchange appears to contradict other statements made by Allergan’s chief executive, David Pyott, in which he has said that Allergan didn’t prepare for a Valeant offer before it was formally made in April.



Once the takeover battle was underway, Allergan was quickly under pressure from Valeant and Pershing Square, the hedge fund run by William A. Ackman.



In May, after Mr. Ackman filed a lengthy letter that outlined his accusations of corporate governance failures by Allergan, Mr. Edwards told his advisers at Goldman Sachs that it was “time to take the gloves off” and urged them to go on the offensive against Mr. Ackman and Valeant.



But James Katzman, a Goldman banker working on the deal for Allergan, said, “Let’s just not get drawn into his game.”



Mr. Edwards, however, was not appeased, expressing concern that the tactics by Valeant and Pershing Square would succeed, leaving Allergan vulnerable to a takeover.



“They will continue repeating the same message because they know it will eventually sink in and stick, particularly when they raise or improve,” Mr. Edwards wrote. “The fact is they will demolish the company and destroy long-term value. They will cover this all up within a few years by doing the next deal. We simply cannot allow this value destructing deal to occur, and I need Goldman to take off its white hat and put on a darker one.”



But throughout the lengthy takeover battle, bankers from Goldman Sachs have declined to put on a darker hat, possibly conscious of their own firm’s endorsement of Valeant through research and underwriting. Instead, Goldman Sachs has let consultants and Allergan itself sling mud at Valeant and Pershing Square.



Behind the scenes, Allergan remained committed to discrediting Valeant as a worthwhile acquirer, hoping both to drive down its stock price and to persuade its own shareholders that they shouldn’t accept Valeant stock as part of a deal.



In an exchange from June, Allergan executives and their advisers from Bank of America Merrill Lynch appear to discuss efforts to push down Valeant’s stock. Writing on June 12, Albert Hwang, a Bank of America managing director, wrote to Mr. Edwards suggesting that Mr. Pyott, Allergan’s chief, had taken credit for driving down Valeant’s stock price and that the price would drop further.



Mr. Edwards stepped down as Allergan’s chief financial officer in August, citing family obligations.



In the emails and documents, Allergan is referred to as “Apollo” and Valeant is known as “Venus.”



And while Allergan has clearly tried to discredit Valeant as a legitimate acquirer, nowhere in the documents is there a smoking gun that proves Mr. Ackman’s claims that Allergan knowingly put forward information it believed to be untrue.



One of the most peculiar email exchanges appears to describe Allergan’s successful efforts to have an article about Valeant’s takeover bid retracted from a publication known as Ophthalmology Management. The story was published in early August and largely described Valeant’s point of view.



Mr. Pyott described the article as a “pathetic piece of reporting.” Soon after that, Allergan executives discussed who on the Ophthalmology Management board was considered an ally. Days later, citing Ophthalmology Management’s “longstanding relationship with Allergan,” the publication withdrew the article.



Doug Parry, the publisher of Ophthalmology Management, recalled 18,200 printed copies containing the article and pledged to have them destroyed. The article was removed from the publication’s website. And the author, who was also an editor at Ophthalmology Management, was “released of his role with the publication.”



Despite months of maneuvering, the fate of Allergan remains unresolved. Valeant and Pershing Square continue to pursue the company and are considering raising their bid. Allergan continues to explore other deals that would scuttle the takeover attempt by Valeant and Pershing Square. A special meeting is set for late December, when Allergan shareholders will get to vote on the offer, if it still standing by then.





So let me get this straight. Ackman is lying..................AGAIN?

this was a surprising acquisition - clinintel started by ex Fisher IVR guys and there were whispers that Fisher was legally going after Clinintel for creating the system while at fisher.



Also, it will be a finesse move to manage going from revenue generation of $300K per IVR system to a system that boasts of $25K for system setup. IVR developers at Parexel might be worried about the future of their jobs.



Will be interesting to see if they ditch Clinphone system for this in total or roll it out for certain studies; that need faster go-live times maybe.

I found some things quite telling from Clive's discussions on the earnings call this week that are concerning. With the first sign of sales decline following the negative publication on Angiomax in the UK they wasted no time in downsizing the field force there.



And secondly Clive seemed all too willing to answer the question regarding M & A and consolidation. When asked if they are open to approaches to approaches by potential acquirers. " Our website is well known, it has our main headquarters number on it and we are as open as we could possibly be to any phone call from anybody anytime, just make sure it's a highly valuable offering"



If you listen to the archived call it starts at the 01:12:20 mark. My guess is that Shire has it's sights on our company, especially now that the Abbvie deal is off and they received a hefty $ 1.6 billion breakup fee. Our stock price makes us especially vulnerable given it's nearly half of what it was.

Is this an industry-wide phenomena?



Third quarter of 2014, Johnson & Johnson domestic sales rose by 11.6%, while international sales fell by 0.3% due to a negative 1.3% effect from foreign exchange.



So apparently not everyone is seeing a drop in USA sales, and some are not seeing good growth outside the USA.

Novo Nordisk ($NVO) is reportedly set to unveil details of an IPO of its IT services business NNIT in the coming days. The Danish drugmaker has spent most of 2014 assessing whether to spin off the unit as an independent company.



Danish daily newspaper Berlingske appears to have the inside track on the story, reporting that NNIT will file papers for an IPO on Nasdaq Copenhagen on October 22. If the plan proceeds to the forecast schedule, shares in NNIT will begin trading on November 14, exactly 14 years after Novozymes spun out of Novo Nordisk. The independent company is expected to be valued at more than $515 million, with some reports suggesting it could near $680 million.



Novo Nordisk reportedly plans to keep a 25% stake in NNIT, with Novo A/S--the Danish drugmaker's major shareholder--buying a further 25% of the shares. The plan is for Novo A/S and Novo Nordisk to own just more than 50% of the shares. New investors will own the rest of NNIT. Reports from when the IPO was first mooted in January suggested Novo Nordisk would hold on to a bigger stake of the company.



If the reported ownership structure is correct, it could be a way for NNIT to try to expand its business with other drugmakers. NNIT has operated as an independent firm since 1998--and is set to generate half of its sales from companies other than Novo Nordisk this year--but its ownership structure may have deterred some potential clients. By cutting its stake from 100% to 25%, Novo Nordisk could eliminate some of the reservations its rivals may have about working with NNIT.

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Valeant Pharmaceuticals and Allergan are higher on Monday thanks to Valeant reporting good earnings and saying it is considering raising its bid for Allergan. Jim Cramer, the co-manager of the Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, said he's "never seen a situation where there are so many winners."

On CNBC's "Cramer's Stop Trading" segment, he noted Valeant Pharmaceuticals beat revenue and earnings estimates. He said he's "not been a fan" of Valeant but admittted the company continues to deliver solid results for investors.

What is happening to us? Something close to a 20% reduction in force just happens and nobody says a word? Senior leaders WITH years of industry experience are out and leaders a few years out of school with no industry experience, no board certifications are SVPs? Another senior "leader" promoted on the same day as the layoff - this one having "mistakenly represented" to the company about actually having a bachelors degree. Oh oops, he does NOT have one it turns out -- minor oversight. That sounds like an old theme raising its ugly head again here. Didn't this comapny have a former CEO with a falsified education record a while back?



But more importantly, what have this latest batch of SVPs done and delivered to this company to warrant any promotions? (besides mindless agreement and failure to produce any new products or higher numbers helping to avoid a layoff).



Then there are those of us that bring real value everyday. We execute with great skill, interpret and promote the tests -- the product CLS sells and uses to pay these fools bigger salaries. I guess we can sit and wait our turn to be out next? What does one have to do, if not a good job, to avoid layoff, to be promoted and recognized in this company? Pucker up (close your eyes, they say its easier when you sell your soul not to look). One only has to look to see how well it has worked for our newly minted senior leaders.



No evidence team? Or can the wunderkind (not) deliver that too for you DDH? Based on his extensive years of research and experience in cancer genetics, his wide renound as a big thinker in the oncology and genomics space, no doubt. Just like he hasn't for any other initiative you've put him in charge of to date. No track record of success equals climbing the ladder. Are you all laughing yet? You should be, big belly laughs. What are we doing delivering on our skills. verifiable education and experience everyday if this is what you show us you really want and admire?



Where is the experience to lead this company? In the board??? Who are the leaders on the ground that know what to do? We don't see ANY. Just little weasels that meet about how to "spin" the data this time to the boss, who, the data show, wouldn't know bad manipulated data if it came up and bit him on his nose.



Just wait until their venerable faces adorn our leadership page on the web communicating to all who visit that this is not a serious company. Perhaps we should rack and stack our exec team vs Foundation's ? We could put that up on our web along with test spec comparators to be really convincing. The biographies of accomplishments will be my favorites, I love fiction born of raging hyperbole.

Research from the Center for Work-Life Policy shows mid-level, professional women need powerful, senior executives to help promote them to the next level of management.



The problem is this: More often than not, superiors are males who are married.



Enter, sex.



In that same CWLP study, 34% of executive women claim they know a female colleague who has had an affair with a boss. Furthermore, 15% of women at the director level or above admitted to having affairs themselves.



And worse, 37% claim the action was rewarded: they said that women involved in affairs received a career boost as a result.



Meanwhile, all this hanky-panky is really screwing the rest of us, says Slyvia Ann Hewlett at Harvard Business Review’s Blog:



61% of men and 70% of women lose respect for a leader involved in an affair. Most poisonous of all, when a junior woman is having a sexual dalliance with the boss, 60% of male executives and 65% of female executives suspect that salary hikes and plum assignments are being traded for sexual favors. This can have a disastrous effect on morale and productivity. Forty-eight percent of men and 56% of women feel animosity towards the involved couple, and 39% of men and 37% of women see a fall off in productivity as the team splinters. Talk about collateral damage!



So what is Sylvia’s suggestion?



The time has come for rigorous, high-profile policies that punish offenders. It's not just about the parties involved anymore. Looking at the larger picture can show some dark times ahead for women in the workplace — something that should be stopped sooner rather than later.

The company has been screwing some fine people, many of whom gave up their homes, family and friend local connections, better lifestyles, better opportunities and so much more to come slave away for Wow Street's dividend whore as long as they were useful.



It's perverted because the recruitment is just so full of some walks-on-water moral high ground, as if the company actually cares about anything other than the bottom line. It does not. It is not allowed to. As Wall Street's bitch, by law, shareholder's are #1.



Stop calling it reallocation, these are mass firings, in other words, the company is BURNING it's "most important" resources after getting what it wants.

If you were kept this week (and I was) , don't think for a second you are safe! Yesterday there were some really good reps and even better people that were let go just like there was in august.I got some really good advice from one of those people and it was to use the "gift" of the borrrowed time we were given and find something else. I'm inclined to do just that. If anyone thinks they were kept because they are valued by this leadership team then you are either naive or blinded by your own arrogance. Do your homework on Stacy chick and Hugh Oneil. They are NOT the people you want to align yourself with. They are too busy looking up to their next opportunity (big payday from an acquisition maybe) to bother looking down at you.

Make sure you stand up and clap for those people when they take the stage in a couple of weeks! I'm sure they will be all smiles and will try to blow a bunch of sunshine up our asses about "what an exciting time it is for us at Mallincrodt" ...just make sure you don't ask any questions...because Stacy will have to either referr to someone who doesn't need to read from a script or will promise to get back to you.

(Reuters) - Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman said on Thursday his lawyers have seen documents that he said show Allergan's board knowingly misled investors as part of a defensive strategy to stave off prospective buyer Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.



Ackman said he had not yet reviewed the documents himself, and did not give any copies of them to reporters, whom he was speaking to on the sidelines of a conference. Reuters could not independently verify his claim.



Allergan representatives were not immediately available for comment.



Ackman told reporters in Toronto: "We believe they put those statements out, that they knew that they were false at the time they made them, and we have found evidence to that effect, that this was a conscious takeover defense strategy to malign Valeant and the company."



In September, Valeant Chief Executive Officer Michael Pearson wrote to Allergan alleging that it was making “baseless attacks" about his company. Allergan Chief Executive David Pyott and lead independent director Michael Gallagher said at the time that the company relied on its knowledge of Valeant and of the industry to express concerns about Valeant's business model.
