With 300 layoffs, all support functions in SSF will be laid off. Amgen will offer jobs to some roles in commercial but only because Kyprolis is still in launch mode. Amgen is expecting most of those people will not relocate to TO so they will not offer house selling guarantees. TH is likely to bring in more ex-BMS people to transition and launch Kyprolis with the expanded label. Even those who stay, will be looking for a new job because career advancement will be non-existent. Internal Amgen and TH loyalist will ensure they don't advance. Most if they stay will be re-leveled. In fact all Onyx Associate directors will be senior managers at Amgen if offered a position. Most directors will also be re-leveled as well. Amgen is looking for the least expensive way to get rid of Onyx and replace them with Amgen leadership choices. Amgen folks at HQ fought hard for control of Onyx and won. Mark McClung, all VPs, sales directors, and DMs will be let go and existing reps who stay on with a salary reduction will be transitioned to Amgen OBU leadership.
